Top Steak Houses in Brooklyn

March 22, 2021 by Tim Arnold

If eating is a formal sport and dishes are its athletes, then the steak would be the game-changer. A dish that originated in Scandinavia in the mid-15th century, the steak is an all-time favorite of meat lovers and can’t seem to get enough of it. In fact, the steak mania has been going on for years that a lot of organizations exist just for promoting it and maintaining its quality.

The United States is one of the countries that love steak likes it’s a national treasure. This is one of the reasons why its beef consumption in 2019 amounted to 27.3 billion pounds. And if you want to find the best steak in the United States, Brooklyn won’t shame your tongue. Set your eyes on this article. It will show you the Top 5 Steak Houses in Brooklyn.

Slicing a steak.

Peter Luger Steak House

Peter’s Luger’s Steak House almost went down the drain after a famous food critic rated it with scathing zero-stars. But thankfully, this steakhouse’s 134 year legacy as one of the best in Brooklyn didn’t crumble easily, and it managed to make a comeback. Indeed, a Michelin star-rated restaurant is hard to beat with words only.

Founded by Sol Forman after the death of Peter Luger, Peter Luger’s Steak House takes pride in making steaks from USDA Prime beef that the staff carefully curated from trusted beef vendors. These are then cooked with butter and salt only. The result is steaks for guests that are juicy, tender, and taste very natural.

The Single Steak, Steak For 2, and Rib Stick are the most sought-after dishes in Peter Luger’s Steak House. But if you want something new, there’s also the Caesar Salad and Luger Burger that regulars are crazy about. You’ll find Peter Luger about 200 meters southwest of Continental Army Plaza

De Stefano Steak House

De Stefano – a laid-back steak house featuring an interior decorated with antiques, vintage photos, and traditional Brooklyn products – provides a very nostalgic dining experience. This is a steakhouse where you can hang out with others and enjoy a drink or two while eating a hearty steak made out of prime dried beef.

Steak in De Stefano is very tender to the point that the proud are very proud to say that you don’t need a knife for eating it. Aside from the steak De Stefano’s menu offers seafood, cordon bleu, lamb chop, desserts, and a hefty collection of wine. The wine option in Defano Steak House consists of Coverlet Sauvignons, Merlots, Pinot Noirs, Italian Whites, and Italian Reds.

You’ll find De Stefano Steak House in the second section of Conselyea St. But to find it easily, just look for Badam Sessa Square and follow the street in front leading south that cuts through Jackson Street, Skillman Avenue, and Conselyea Steet.

Panorama Steakhouse

So where do you eat steak while looking at some of the most scenic spots in Brooklyn? Quick answer; Don’t have doubts about visiting Panorama Steakhouse. Panorama Steakhouse doesn’t disappoint with its T-bone. A lot of Brooklyn locals go here after spending time in Brighton Bay and other public areas of Sheepshead Bay.

Panorama’s T-bone cut is simply phenomenal. The rosemary provides an aroma that goes with the salty yet very balanced taste of the beef. Moreover, the juice oozes as you press the steak with a knife. To experience the best taste of its t-bone, order side dishes such as eggplant parm, mushroom sauce, and t-bone steaks pasta. All in all, if you’re craving for t-bone steak, Panorama got you covered

There’s are casual options if you don’t want to eat Panorama’s steak yet. Other dishes that you might find equally impressive are calamari and crab cakes. The calamari has a very cracky texture and a distinct nutty and spicy taste. On the other hand, the crab cakes have a very magical savory and sweet flavor that lingers in the mouth. The nearest landmark to Panorama Steakhouse is Benson Park which is about 1-kilometer southwest.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

Steak and red peppers.

Morton’s The Steakhouse is a steakhouse that you’ll find anywhere in the United States. All provide that fine dining experience with their luxurious living rooms and highly formal staff. Nevertheless, the chain in Brooklyn that provides sights of the distant Liberty State Park and Hudson River might be the best.

All beef that that Morton’s The Steakhouse uses for its steaks is USDA-Prime. They come from exclusive beef contractors in the U.S. As for the cooking method, it doesn’t describe how. But what’s certain is that all steaks that Morton’s The Steak House serves punch the mouth with the romantic flavors of balanced nuttiness, saltiness, and spiciness.

Morton’s The Steakhouse breaks the general bad impressions about steakhouse chains. It has garnered a lot of awards due to its full dedication to providing a wholesome dining experience to clients. To state a few, awards that Morton’s The Steakhouse boasts are Consumer Picks 2013 Award of Fine Dining for Menu Variety, Creativity, Value; and NRN Consumer Picks 2016 Top Scoring Fine Dining Chains.

Amber Steakhouse

Amber Steakhouse doesn’t leg behind Morton’s The Steakhouse when it comes to fine dining. Its interior is as classy as you want it to be – neat cloth-covered round tables, an aesthetic ceiling with chandeliers, and attractive expansive windows that allow you to see what’s happening in the vicinity of Greenpoint.

The way that the steak is presented is the selling point of Amber Steakhouse. Steak and other dishes that Amber Steakhouse offers have that instagrammable element. Therefore, if you’re a foodie who cares about the look of food aside from its taste, Amber Steakhouse is more than ready to show you its culinary artistry.

Final Thoughts

There are lots of great steakhouses in Brooklyn. However, this article only showed the five that withstood the challenge of times. Understand that the best steakhouses don’t emerge like mushrooms, but take time to develop. So what are you waiting for? Even a living room outfitted with the nicest amenities won’t cook up a tender, juicy steak for you. Get out there and give one of these steakhouses a try.

The steakhouses mentioned above excel in terms of customer reviews about service, menu, and environment. With that being said, try the recommendations here.
