FacebookAn 81-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car in the confines of the 62nd Precinct on Friday, July 25 at approximately 12:20 p.m., according to cops.
The victim, identified as Margherita Nanfro, was allegedly struck by a 2002 Honda Civic while crossing Rutherford Place and Bay 16th Street. The driver, identified as a 37-year-old female, was traveling westbound on Rutherford Place at the time of the accident.
Nanfro was a Bensonhurst resident, living on 16th Avenue.
EMS responded and transported Nanfro to Lutheran Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
According to cops, the driver remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
