Partying for a good cause, the Second Annual Preservation Party, hosted by the Sunset Park Landmarks Committee, was held at The Irish Haven on Saturday, October 18.

The LeFrak Center at Lakeside ice skating rink will open for its second season as of Saturday, October 25. The rink was unveiled last year and has been in use year-round as an event space and roller-rink during the spring and summer months.

Students at the Lutheran Elementary School are benefiting from the generosity of alumni and friends. Over the summer, a new science lab was constructed. The lab includes an interactive Promethean board. Grades three through eight work in the lab with Dr. Vivian Cama, science specialist.

It is a mesmerizing, masterful combination of contradictions from Aeschylus’ ancient tragedy “The Suppliants.” The modern version by playwright Charles Mee at Walt Whitman Theatre is delivered with breathtaking power.
