An effort by attorneys for Congressmember Michael Grimm to push back the start of his trial for fraud and tax evasion to early January was turned down by Federal Eastern District Judge Pamela Chen during a brief court session on the morning of Tuesday, September 2.

The New York State Senate, on Wednesday, May 7, passed legislation that would increase the penalties for leaving the scene of an accident when a death, injury, or damage of property occurs. The bill -- S2503 – would deter drivers from leaving injured victims at the scene of a crime, facilitate police investigations, and enable timely chemical testing of a driver if warranted.
