From the Brooklyn Nets:

Open auditions for the Brooklyn Nets Kids Dance Team will be held tomorrow, Friday, August 24, at 4:00 p.m. at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center at 161 Ashland Place on the LIU Brooklyn campus. Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. and dancers must arrive by 4:00 p.m. to participate.

Brooklyn Nets Kids are seeking boys and girls ages 6-13 with at least two years of dance training. Dancers will be asked to demonstrate their ability to learn and perform choreography. Tumbling and break-dancing skills are a plus, but not required. Participants should wear dance attire and non-marking sneakers or dance shoes. One parent must be present at registration to sign a participation waiver. Additionally, dancers must be available to attend rehearsals in Brooklyn once a week, as well as Saturday and Sunday home games at Barclays Center.

Celebrity choreographer Tanisha Scott will be the Head Coach of the Brooklyn Nets Kids. Scott has worked with JAY Z, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Sean Paul, and many others. The dance team will be showcased in front of thousands of fans at Brooklyn Nets home games at Barclays Center and represent the Brooklyn Nets at events throughout the New York metropolitan area.

LIU Brooklyn is accessible by the following major subway lines: 2, 3, 4, or 5 train to Nevins Street Station, B, Q, or R train to DeKalb Avenue Station, and A, C, or G train to Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street Station.
